Why Revival Tarries

Jeremiah 32:27

By verdict of the scripture, the ability of God to do anything cannot be questioned. God is able to do all things including your own thing. “Now unto Him who is able to do all things above all that we ask or imagined”, (Ephesians 3:20).

When we say “God Can”, what does it really means. It simply means there is revival available for you. It means good things are available for the taken. It means what you are looking for exists because the creator exists.

Now, if it is available, it means it is obtainable but why are you not obtaining your own. That you have not received your blessings is not the fault of God. God is constant, you and I are the only variable in this equation.

The children of Israel also were in this type of situation at a time. They were applying everything they have been thought as religious people but there revival seems to be far from them… Isaiah 58:1

REASONS WHY REVIVAL TARRIES?

So why does revival tarries? If God can, why am I not seeing it in my life.

  1. You are not mixing the word with faith (Hebrews 4:2, Galatians 4:1)

Anytime you hear the word of God or prophecies, He is expecting that you will take action based on the word. You mix it with faith.

  • Your heart is not right (Isaiah 28:22, Deuteronomy 15:1-10)

You need to maintain a right heart if you want to see your testimonies delivered into your hands.

  • Error in giving (2 Corinthians 8:12, 9:7, Malachi 1:2, 6-8)

Offering to God is your covering to shield you away from every form of suffering. In the issue of offering, the collector of the offering is different from the receiver of the offering. Hebrews 7:8 the church authorities might collect it from you through the ushers but Jesus is the receiver of the offering. The receiver determines if the offering is accepted or not. The collector does not see your heart while giving it but He God sees your heart and determine if its acceptable or not.

  • You have wrong counsellors. (Psalm 1:1, I kings 12:6-11)

Wrong counsellors are people that will tell you what you want to hear and not what you need to hear. They have studied you so well that they know what you like to listen to. They tell you things that are sweet to your hearing because of what they are getting from you.

  • You are ungrateful. (Luke 17:12-19, Psalm 28:5, Isaiah 5:12, Psalms 78:17-19)

When you are ungrateful, you don’t appreciate little things. God takes record of everything He’s doing for you to the smallest details.

Abraham A Case Study

Why did revival tarried in the life of Abraham. He had three different cases where he also doubted God but God had to come to the rescue because Abraham was going to truncate God’s plan of revival for him.

  1. He doubted God’s omnipotence.  Gen. 15:2-3, 6

Abraham doubted God because he was so unsure of is going to happen to him in the future when he’s gone. But Abraham’s doubt was quickly cleared when heard the word of the Lord. Are you having your revival tarried, turn to the word.

  • He had an alternative Gen 17:17-18

Abraham had another alternative called Ishmael. No alternative can alter the word of the Lord. You have to stick to God because you are in good hands. If Abraham was to ever see promises and prophecies fulfilled, he had to do his part first which was to walk blamelessly before God. Repair the altar of your heart.

  • He listened to Sarah his wife against the agenda of God. Genesis 16:1-3

Don’t allow any counsel that will truncate the agenda of God for your life, no matter how close the person is to you and no matter the pressure.
